I am very flexible with nights and you can book just one night or a series of nights. It is also possible to book on a weekly basis. It is typical to require more nights in the beginning that gradually phase out as your baby/babies begin to sleep longer between feeds. If you require help to establish a routine due to ongoing sleep problems it is typical that I would come to your house for a period or 2, 3 or even 4 nights consecutively (depending on how much of a new routine is being established) with a ‘follow up’ night a few nights later to ensure you are happy with the new routine and your baby is getting enough sleep. It is also possible to book nights for me to care for your baby while you recover from an illness or operation.
A typical night is 9pm until 7am charged at £10 per hour. (These hours can be negotiated to fit around your requirements if needed)
I am based in Fareham and am happy to travel up to 45 minutes to your family. Areas covered are Winchester, Southampton, Bishops Waltham, Petersfield, East/West Meon and Portsmouth. If you live further away please telephone to discuss as for an additional travelling fee I may be able to help you.
I cannot guarantee to have your baby sleeping through the night by a set age. A baby’s ability to sleep for long periods of time is dependent on their age, weight, ability to feed, routine and you. I offer an advisory service where I can teach you and your baby how to encourage good sleeping and feeding patterns to safely extend the period of time between feeds. I follow all guidelines at all times in relation to administering feeds and SIDs prevention. I am fully insured with public liability insurance through the NCMA (National Childminders Association) and have many references you can follow up.
I am able to assist with caring for a baby with special needs, however I would rely on you to inform me of all of your baby’s requirements in relation to their needs and if I feel a rigid routine is too high an expectation for your baby I would discuss this with you.
In relation to preparing feeds for the following day: It is now publicised guidance that formula milk must be made up on a need to use basis. This is so that the boiling water kills any potential bacteria in the formula milk when you mix it which must then be cooled before feeding to your baby. I can prepare the cooled boiled water for your feeds for the next day but responsibility is on the parent to freshly boil water to mix the formula powder into and then add the cooled boiled water I have prepared so it is instantly ready to feed to your baby. |
